I have driven every Rolls Royce model including the new ones like the Rolls Royce Spectre.
How to open and close a Rolls Royce
GETTING INSIDE
Opening Rolls Royce doors is pretty simple but there are some hidden tips and tricks that will help you get the most out of your Rolls Royce experience. If you have the key in your pocket you can just go up to the car and open the door like any other car. The door is assisted so you don’t have to pull hard adding to the luxurious feel. Once inside there are two buttons on the left side of the dash that you can press to close the door.
Furthermore, a cool feature if you are a Rolls Royce Chauffeur is that instead of manually closing the door for your guest you can just tap the button on the door handle and the door will close automatically. This is a cool trick that your guest might appreciate. This also works if you are driving a Rolls Royce and want to close the door after you get out you can leave the door open and just use the same button to close the door and lock the car.
Once your inside of the Rolls Royce Cullinan you can look on the left side of the dash where you will find two buttons. If you press and hold the button it will automatically close the door so you don’t have to reach over and close the door. For Rolls Royce sedans and coupes the door close button is located next to the media control knob. If your sitting in the rear there is also a button near the pillar that you can press to automatically close the rear door.
GETTING OUT
If you are inside the vehicle and want to get out you can simply pull the door handle to get out of the car like any normal car. A feature that most Rolls Royce renters or owners don’t know about is that if you pull the lever once and then hold the handle it will open automatically as long as you keep holding the door handle.
Starting and stopping the car
In order to start the car you will find a round button on the left side of the dash that is labeled START/STOP. This is also the button you should press when getting out of the car. Make sure to put the car in park before turning off the car. We will go over this in detail in the next section.
PARK, Neutral & DRIVE LEVER
Once you have the car are on and are ready to explore Miami in your beautiful Rolls Royce you will find the shift lever on the right hand side of the drivers column. To start driving simply press the lever down. If you would like to put the car in neutral just tap it back up once. It should be in the center and if you would like to go in reverse simply tap it all the way up. In order to park the car just tap the end of the lever. There is also a low button located on the lever that allows the car to shift 25% faster and also allows the vehicle to rev at a higher rpm.
Operating the Climate control system
DIRECTION OF AIR FLOW
True to its heritage the Rolls Royce climate system is not just your everyday climate system. It is modeled to resemble the traditional old world feel that Rolls Royce is known for while having all the modern features you would expect in a brand new car. There are 4 round luxurious AC vents made from sold metal inside the car. Two in the center and then one on each side. These vents allow you to direct air flow wherever you want.
Closing the vents
Just under the vents you will find a silver knob. It can be located next to the vent. This knob allows you to close or open the AC vent to provide more or less air. Pushing the knob in will close the vent and pulling it toward you will open it up.
AIR FLOW PRESSURE
In the center just under the vents you will find a knob that allows you to increase or lower the air pressure coming from the vents. There are 5 different settings. OFF, Soft, Medium, High, and MAX pressure.
ADJUSTING TEMPERATURE
Also In the center just under the air flow knob you will find two different dials. Both driver and passenger have dual controls for the temperature. The top one controls the temperature of the top AC vents and the one just under it controls the temperature of the lower vents that are hidden under the dash to keep your feet warm or cold. If you turn them toward the red it will get warmer and the more blue the colder it will get. There are no digital displays showing the temperature so you can just adjust it to your liking.
ADJUSTING SEAT TEMPERATURE
In between the two air flow pressure knobs you will find five buttons that activate the seat cooling or heating as well as the steering wheel heater. The order of the buttons from left to right are drivers seat heater, drivers seat cooler, steering wheel heater, passenger seat heater, and passenger seat cooler.
DEFROST, RECERCULATE, & ON/OFF SWITCH
Under the seat temperature controls you will find four toggle switches. These switches allow you to enable or disable the defrost, both front and rear. Then there is a switch if you want to recirculate the air or allow external air inside the car, and the last toggle switch enables or disables the ac system entirely.
How the turning signals work
The lever for the turn signals is located on the left side of the steering column and makes a tinging sound similar to the sound of tapping a metal surface with your nails. It’s unique to Rolls Royce and adds an old world feel.
How to operate the seat controls
If your in the sitting in the front of the car the seat adjustments are located on the left side of drivers seat and on the right side of passengers seat.
